What’s happening with Verizon

Hey there Verizon users (and anyone else reading this post),

Long time, no talk. I just wanted to give you all an update on what’s happening with Verizon Wireless.

The good news is that we are getting very close to being able to send ringtones directly to Verizon phones again. We’re just waiting for the green light from the folks at Verizon.

The not so good news is that they have restricted the content that their users can access from our catalog (some of you may have noticed). Sorry about that, but don’t worry, if you can’t find what you want, just go to the Make Your Own page and make and send your own custom ringtones to your phone from music you have on your computer. Give it a try, rolling your own is quick and fun.

Instructions for the Blackberry Curve (8330 & 8830)

1. From the menu list, select ‘Media’
2. Go to ‘Ringtones’ and select ‘My Ringtones’
3. Select the song you want to set from the list and click ‘Options’
4. Select ‘Set As Ringtone’

Instructions for setting ringtones on the Verizon Blackberry Curve (8330 & 8830)

Open the message
From the menu list, select ‘Media’.
Go to ‘Ringtones’ and Select ‘My Ringtones’
Select the song you want to set from the list of ringtones and click on ‘Options’.
Select ‘Set As Ringtone’.

Why can’t Myxer send ringtones directly to my Verizon Wireless phone?

Due to a recent policy change at Verizon Wireless, we are currently not able to send ringtones directly to non-smart phones on the Verizon Wireless network, but you can get them. It’s easy! Just follow the instructions on the page displayed after you click the ’send to phone’ button.

Basically, all you do is click the Download Ringtone link (shown on the page displayed after you click the ’send to Phone’ button) to save the ringtone to your computer, then use your favorite email program to send it to your phone as an attachment.

Email delivery can be a little inconsistent, so if you don’t get the message the first time, just try it again. It should eventually work. And if you get the message, but the ringtone isn’t attached, try making the ringtone shorter (20 seconds or less) and sending it again.

I got an email saying that the message could not be delivered to my Verizon phone

Unfortunately, the email delivery is a bit flakey. We like to call it email roulette.

We’re not sure why, but it seems like the Verizon servers get backed up from time to time. Some of the messages get super delayed and others get dropped. If you got an error message, check the “to” address (it should be your_phone_number@vzwpix.com) and try it again. It should eventually work.

Good luck. We hope to be able to send messages directly to Verizon phones again soon.

I got the message on my phone, but the song was not attached

Try making the ringtone a little shorter. Try 10-15 seconds at first. If that works, then try making it a little longer.

I never received the email message on my Verizon phone

Instructions for Downloading Ringtones onto to a Verizon Wireless LG Phone

Open the PIX message (the song may start to play)
Click on “Options” (right soft key)
Select “Save Ringtone” if available, else “Save Sound”
Re-name the sound (if you want) and select “Ok”

Some LG phones do not allow you to use set the sound as a ringtone directly from the download. If this applies to your phone then continue with these steps:

Click “Menu”
Select “Settings and Tools”
Select a ring option and select a sound from the list.
