Instructions for Downloading Ringtones to a typical Verizon Wireless Samsung Phone

Open the PIX message (the song may start to play)
Click “Option” (right soft key)
Select “Save Ringtone” if available, else “Save Sound”

If you selected “Save Sound”, then continue below

Click “Menu”
Scroll to “Get it Now”
Select Music & Tones
Select the downloaded song (if may be stored in the My Sounds or My Ringtones folder)
Click on Options
Select “Set As Ringtone”

*These are the instructions for the typical Samsung phone on Verizon Wireless. Your phone model or software version may vary.

I get the PIX message on my Samsung A950, but the ringtone is not attached.

We’ve been having some trouble with some of the Verizon phones lately, including the A950. Some people are saying that it works better if you keep the ringtones under 10 seconds long.

Try making one of your ringtones just 10 seconds long and resending it to your phone. If that works, then try making it a little longer. Hopefully that will do the trick.

Open the message
Click “Options” and “Extract Address” or “Save Address”
Select the link from the list
Click “Options” and “Go to URL”
Select “Continue” if asked to trust content (this will connect you to the Myxer server)*
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and Select “Download Ringtone”
Select “Use” and “Set” (the ringtone will be saved in “Downloads” under “Ringers” or in “Organizer” under “Voice Memo”)

*You’ll need web access from your phone to follow the link and download the ringtone to your phone. If you don’t have web access, please contact your carrier.

Why don’t ringtones I sent from Myxer work on my Samsung SCH-A850?

The Samsung SCH-A850 on Verizon Wireless is not currently supported for ringtones because the ability to use downloaded songs as ringtones on that phone has been disabled by the manufacturer or carrier. The good news is that wallpapers work, so give it a try.

Why don’t ringtones I sent from Myxer work on my Samsung SCH-A970?

Open the message
Scroll down into the body of the message
Click “Options” and “Go to URL”
Select “Continue” if asked to trust content (this will connect you to the Myxer server)
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and Click “Options” and “Go To”
Select “Yes” when asked if you want to download the song
Go to your phone’s main menu and open the “My Stuff” > “Audio” folder
Select the song you just downloaded
Click “Options” and Select “Set As” > “Call Ringtone” to set the song as your ringtone
