  1. If you already have an account, just sign in to the website.
  2. Go to the Share page and sign up for an artist account
  3. Upload a song or image file (you will initially only be able to set the price to “free” )
  4. After you create your ringtone or wallpaper, you will be given a link where you can request to become a MyxerIndie.
  5. After your request has been reviewed and you will be sent an email telling you if your request has been approved. This usually takes a day or two).
  6. You’re MyxerIndie status will also be displayed on your dashboard.
  7. If you are approved, you can set a price on any of your shared items.

You get 30% of the retail price for every item you sell. You set the retail price when you create the item. You can create and sell as many items as you want. (The rest goes to cover expenses such as PayPal or credit card transaction fees, SMS message delivery, carrier fees, my wife’s growing shoe collection, and the enormous pile of cash we have in the middle of the room here.)

For example:

  • You make a ringtone and pick a sales price of $1.99
  • You get 60 cents (1.99 x .30 = .60) each time someone downloads your ringtone to their phone
  • We send your earnings directly to your PayPal account once a month

We send money on or around the 15th of the month following the month in which sales occurred. The delay is necessary so that we can be sure all sales have cleared.
