This is not a subscription service - there are no recurring fees. If we are ever going to charge you for anything it will be very obvious.

  • Myxer does not charge anything for making your own ringtones or wallpapers. Whether you upload songs and images from the make page, or you use the fancy MyxerMagic web extensions, we don’t charge you anything for rolling your own.
  • Myxer does not charge for sending ringtones, wallpapers, or videos from our catalog (other than clearly-labeled premium content - see next note).
  • Premium content costs between $0.49 and $2.99 per item. Premium content is content in the Myxer catalog offered by one of our artists or partners for sale. The retail price, which is always clearly specified, is set by the artist. We will never bill you without obtaining your very specific consent.
  • There is no charge for sharing ringtones, wallpapers, or videos with others.
  • If you buy something from us, that’s all you bought. We are not a subscription service, and we don’t have any recurring charges.

Note: Depending on your mobile data plan, your carrier might charge you to receive text messages (or PIX messages) or for internet access and data transfer. As the carriers like to say, “Standard carrier rates apply.” The typical 20 second ringtone is about 70kb of data, and a one minute video averages 600kb. Unfortunately, we don’t have any control over carrier charges, so if you’re not sure what your text messaging and data costs are, you should check with your carrier first. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

However, there are some phones that are not compatible. In the US, we support most carriers including: AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, and Cellular One.

There are a few notable exceptions:

Nextel, Boost Mobile, Helio, Tracfone, and Telus Mobility have disabled the ability for their users to use downloaded songs as ringtones.

Alltel: Our software works with most phones on the Alltel network except for LG phones, the Motorola E815, the Samsung R-series, and the Samsung U-series phones (including the U520 and U420). We’re not quite sure why, they just don’t seem to work.

Here is a list of a few additional phones that should work for ringtones, but don’t because the carriers have disabled the ability to use downloaded songs as ringtones:

  • Audiovox CDM-8945
  • Kyocera KX9 (OYSTR)
  • LG UX260 (Rumor) - Bell Mobility Only
  • LG VX5200
  • LG VX8100
  • LG VX9800 (The “V”)

  • Samsung SCH-A850
  • Samsung SCH-A970
  • Samsung SCH-R400
  • Samsung SCH-R410
  • Samsung SPH-i325 (Ace)
  • Sidekick II
  • Sidekick III
  • UTStarcom GzOne Type Z

(Note: If you have one of the phones above you may still be able to take advantage of the many wallpapers and videos available)

Games should work for most of the AT&T and Sprint phones, but unfortunately don’t work on Verizon Wireless or T-Mobile.

As long as your phone can receive text messages and access the internet or receive PIX messages (Verizon Wireless, Cricket, US Cellular, and Helio) chances are we’ve got it covered.

We’re very serious about protecting your phone number, and never give it out to anyone. We will only send you text messages in response to actions that you specifically request from Myxer (for example, when you request that we send you a ringtone).

In addition to the initial “download link” message we send when you request a ringtone or other piece of content, we may send another “thank you” message after you have successfully downloaded the content. This “thank you” message may contain a message from one of our sponsors (advertisers). Although the message may come from a sponsor, the message is sent by us, and the sponsor is not provided with your phone number or any other identifying information.

You will receive no more than one ‘thank you’ message per day, and you will only receive such a message immediately after you have downloaded content from us.

We support most unprotected audio files such as WAV, MP3, WMA, and M4A files generated by WinAmp, iTunes, Windows Media, and most other audio tools. And we support standard image files such as BMP, GIF, and JPG.

Just upload your song or image files to our server and use our online tools to customize your ringtones or wallpapers.

Sorry, but we cannot create ringtones from songs purchased from iTunes (M4P files) or other songs protected by Digital Rights Management (DRM).

We have online tools that you can use to specify the exact portion of the song you want to use as your ringtone.
