Open the PIX message (the song may start to play)
Click “Option” (right soft key)
Select “Save Ringtone” if available, else “Save Sound”

If you selected “Save Sound”, then continue below

Click “Menu”
Scroll to “Get it Now”
Select Music & Tones
Select the downloaded song (if may be stored in the My Sounds or My Ringtones folder)
Click on Options
Select “Set As Ringtone”

Click on “Options” (right soft key)
Select “Save Ringtone” if available, else “Save Sound”
Re-name the sound (if you want) and select “Ok”

Some LG phones do not allow you to use set the sound as a ringtone directly from the download. If this applies to your phone then continue with these steps:

Click “Menu”
Select “Settings and Tools”
Select a ring option and select a sound from the list.

Verizon Wireless, Centennial Wireless, Cricket, and US Cellular Users: Open the message and download the attached song file to your phone, then set it as your ringtone. Click here for phone specific instructions.

All Other Users: Open the message and follow the link in the message to download the song file to your phone, then set it as your ringtone. Click here for phone specific instructions.

I can’t follow the link on my phone.

Verizon Wireless. Cricket, and US Cellular Users: Unless you have a “smart phone” like a Treo or a Blackerry you should receive your ringtones, wallpapers, and videos as attachments in a PIX message, not as a link. Go to the Account -> Phone Details page and make sure that your carrier and phone model is set to correctly. Then resend the content to your phone if necessary.

All Other Users: Use your phone’s navigaton wheel or use the menu/options button to select the link. (Note: In order to be able to follow th link, you need to be able to access the internet from your phone. If you don’t alreay have a data access/internet access plan on your phone, you will need to check with your carrier.)

When I try to follow the link on my phone, it asks me to sign-in.

Some phones, like the Samsung x497, modify the link we send and strip away some of the information you need to download the content automatically. If it asks, just sign in and it should work.

I get an error message when I try to follow the link on my phone.

If you have been able to download ringtones or wallpapers in the past and you haven’t changes anything on your account, the error most likely means that the network is busy. Wait a few minutes, make sure you have a strong signal, and try to follow the link again.

If you have never been able to download a ringtone or wallpaper from us, it may be that you do not have a full internet access plan on your phone. Some data plans, like T-Mobile’s T-Zones, only allow you to access certain “approved” websites. Can you get to other websites from your phone (like www.yahoo.com or mobile.google.com)? If not, then you probably have a limited plan.

In order to use Myxer, you would need to switch to a plan that provides access to all websites. If you can get to these other sites, let us know since it must be another problem.

Instructions for Downloading Ringtones onto the Motorola Q on Verizon Wireless

1. Open the message
2. Click Stop (left soft button)
3. Click Menu (right soft button)
4. Select ‘Object View’
5. Click ‘Save’ and ‘Done’ to save the file to your phone
6. Click Start -> Settings -> Sounds
7. Select the ringtone and click the ‘Select’ button
8. Choose your newly downloaded file from the list and click ‘Done’
