Some users are currently having trouble getting ringtones to work on the new Sprint SPH-M540 (Rant) and SPH-M630 (Highnote) phones. Some users are getting 905 errors and others can download the songs to their phone, but can’t set them as their ringtone.

The problem is that the older versions of firmware on the SPH-M540 (Rant) aren’t compatible. Please update the firmware on your phone by following the instructions below and try it again. That should do the trick.

On your phone, please go to:
    1) TOOLS
    2) UPDATE PHONE
    3) UPDATE FIRMWARE.
The process will take approximately 5 minutes (and you only need to do this once).

We’re continuing to look into the problem with the M630 (Highnote) and will post an update as soon as we have some additional info.
